Kay is a music education consultant, teacher and composer with over 30 years’ experience supporting children, young people and teachers to improve their music-making. As winner of the Trinity Laban 2018 Director’s Prize for Excellence in Music Education, Kay champions a research-informed approach to music education development, combined with a wealth of practical knowledge and expertise. She is the author of a highly respected book on Whole Class Instrumental Teaching, a regular contributor to Music Teacher Magazine, and has presented at many prestigious conferences including the Music & Drama Education Expo. Her educational music is used by young performers world-wide. Kay also plays trumpet with the Bollywood Brass Band, with whom she has run many successful ACE-funded education projects.
